PROCESS INFORMATION

As a full-time, tenured GCC faculty member, you can apply to teach on a study abroad program and help provide students the opportunity for a life-changing learning experience. Adjunct instructors can participate on a GCC study abroad program by applying as a Program Faculty in partnership with a full-time, tenured GCC Faculty Director.

Every program has at least two collaborators:

  1. the Faculty Director, who is primarily responsible for handling logistics during the program
  2. Program Faculty, whose primary responsibility is teaching

Programs are instructor-driven, and this is what allows the destinations and courses to be diverse. Instructors should have travel experience in the geographic region before leading a program. After a program proposal is approved by the Study Abroad Committee, the Study Abroad Director will work with instructors to develop itineraries, make travel arrangements, and provide resources for the instructors to recruit students.

Got an idea? Reach out to the Study Abroad Director, who will be thrilled to brainstorm!
