Program Learning Outcomes: Students will be able to apply the basic principles and procedures used in valuing residential properties. They will be able to choose the appropriate method to determine value for a specific property, estimate gross income and calculate expenses for income producing property and meet Appraisal Qualifications Board (AQB) licensing requirements for filling out forms and completing the USPAP form.
In the Real Estate curriculum, the California Office of Real Estate Appraisal (OREA) determines the courses required to attain an appraisal license, including: 1) Trainee License, 2) Residential License, and Certified Residential Licenses. Many of these course are also applicable to the salesperson's or broker's license of the California Department of Real Estate (DRE). In certain cases courses can be used for both OREA and DRE requirements. Students will be able to apply the basic principles and procedures used in valuing residential properties.
