Machinist

This degree or certificate is designed to provide the fundamentals of the machinist trade. This includes basic, advanced and complicated operations of machine tools, and the use of computers in programming numerical control milling machines. Students must complete all required courses for a minimum of 21 units. Program Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this program, students will demonstrate the skills required in the field of machine and manufacturing technology, such as computer numerical machining (CNC) for various machine tools; demonstrate the skills required in the field of machine and manufacturing technology, such as use of manual machining equipment; demonstrate the skills required in the field of machine and manufacturing technology, such as metallurgy and heat treating; and demonstrate the skills required in the field of machine and manufacturing technology, such as technical mathematics.
