This degree or certificate prepares students for management and leadership roles in health services and related organizations and systems. Students explore key issues facing healthcare delivery and learn strategies for managing effective and efficient operations. The curriculum covers public and private sector healthcare organizations, including hospitals, long-term care facilities, group practices, health maintenance organizations, health insurance and benefits administrations, and public health agencies. Emphasis is placed on organizational dynamics, healthcare policy, and administrative functions across diverse care settings. Students must complete all required courses for a minimum of 25 units. Program Learning Outcomes: Upon completion of this program, Prepare students for a career in the healthcare industry by completing the Health Care Administration Certificate; Describe the value of personal and professional development, health and community service, and life-long learning in healthcare management; Analyze the impact of healthcare administration on healthcare delivery within the community.
