INTRODUCTION TO FIRE PROTECTION

Fire Technology 101 presents the philosophy and history of fire protection; history of loss of life and property by fire; review of municipal fire defenses; study of the organization and function of Federal, State, and County, and private fire protection agencies; and survey of professional fire protection career opportunities. Fire Technology 101 meets or exceeds the California State Fire Marshal’s Office core requirement for Fire 1. Lecture 3 hours.
Recommended preparation: Eligibility for English 120 or ESL 151.
Note: This course may be taken 2 times; a maximum of 6 units may be earned.
