Data, Feedback, & Assessment

Notice areas of need and respond with intention

Data, Feedback, & Assessment

Data comes at us all the time - in the classroom, this data is often related to student performance. Their work and engagement is data. There is also data about the college as a whole or programs within the college system.  The power of data is in our response to it.

  • In the classroom, we can learn grading, feedback, and assessment/testing techniques that allow us to respond with intention so that students gain skills and approaches to critical thinking that help them step closer to the high standards you set for them.

  • For managers and evaluators, how can we provide effective feedback to employees and programs.

  • For everyone, when we seek to improve programs and services, data can also serve as feedback to the work we do in our areas or programs to improve outcomes for students.  We can ask brave questions like - Is this working? How is this working? How do I know it’s working?
